Chaplaincy Team

Our Chaplaincy Team

At Holy Family, living by the word of God is at the core of everything we do. Through our RE lessons, Gospel assemblies and our Prayer Liturgies the word of the Lord is taught and discussed daily.

We have a wonderful group of children who are our Chaplaincy team in school. Their role is to meet and unpick the word of God and then spread the good news throughout school. They plan and deliver whole school Prayer Liturgies and Prayer Liturgies in class.

"15 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature."

Mark 16:15

Our First Prayer Liturgy

Our Chaplaincy team took part in their first prayer liturgy where they arranged a focal point, took part in reading from the Gospel and invited children to join in with the prayer.

Ms McFadden then introduced the team to the whole school and shared their mission.

Spreading the Word

The Chaplaincy team enjoyed visiting year 6 to lead a Prayer Liturgy based on the scripture they had been studying in their 'Breaking the Word' lunchtime group. The children enjoyed the creative gather and looked forward to acting on the mission.

St Bernadette- Relics Tour 2022

During our school trip to St Peter in Chains church in Doncaster, members of the Chaplaincy team were able to venerate the relics of St Bernadette.

They enjoyed writing prayers that will travel to Lourdes and washed their hands in the holy water that had been brought from Lourdes itself.

A Trip to Church!

The Chaplaincy Team enjoyed an afternoon trip to church to take all of the donations ready for the Harvest Mass.

Take a look at the generous offerings.

Making it official!

It was wonderful to see members of the Chaplaincy Team presented with their team badges by Father Joseph at our Harvest Mass. They were proud to receive their badges and show their commitment to the mission of the school in front of all the children and parents.

Harvest Time

The Chaplaincy Team were honoured to take part in Harvest Mass at Our Lady of the Assumption Church. Lead by Father Joseph, the children were able to open the Mass with a welcome and a harvest poem followed by a reading from the book of Leviticus. It was wonderful to hear the children reading the Bidding prayer and finally finishing with a special harvest prayer written by the Prayer Group. Take a look below to see our Harvest Mass.

22 “‘When you reap the harvest of your land, do not reap to the very edges of your field or gather the gleanings of your harvest. Leave them for the poor and for the foreigner residing among you. I am the Lord your God.’”

Leviticus 23:22
