Care for Creation

Care for Creation

At Holy Family, we understand the importance of looking after our school, our local community and the wider world. Therefore, we have created a team with a special purpose- to take care of and protect God’s creations.

Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”

Genesis 1:26

Our Reverse Advent Calendar

The Care for Creation Team are excited to announce their new mission- a reverse Advent calendar.

Members of the team have visited classes in school to tell them how the children can take part in this mission and will be at the front of school on a morning to tell parents how they can get involved. Take a look below to see how you can take part.

Holiday Lunch Club

Members of the Care for Creation Team were happy to advertise a local holiday lunch club that were able to offer free lunches to school children in the area. Braving the weather, the children handed out leaflets to parents after school.

Harvest Donations

It was wonderful to see all the donations of food be taken to Stainforth Food Bank by members of the Care for Creation Team after our Harvest Mass. It was gratefully received by staff who work there, who will be able to spread the kindness of others to those in need and help others in our local community.

"For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home."

Matthew 25:35

Our First Mission

Beginning on our first mission, the Care for Creation team have written to Our Lady of Assumption church to offer their service and help. After looking after our school, by organising a litter pick with Mr Courtney, they wanted to help others in the wider community.

"10 Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms."

Peter 4:10
