Stainforth Community

Harvest Festival

This year, our children and their families have once again shown amazing generosity with the food they have donated for our local food bank. Sadly, the children and parents could not gather together to celebrate our Harvest Festival together, so instead we joined a live CAFOD liturgy to worship with many other schools in the country. The children really enjoyed learning about the importance of supporting others in need. The DN7 community food bank were extremely grateful with what the children had donated.

For Remembrance day this year, the children and staff at Holy Family decided that they wanted to wow the community with a powerful memorial to commemorate the fallen soldiers. Some of our children would usually walk to the local cenotaph for a service and gather in the hall to share a silence together on Remembrance day. This year each class held their reflective liturgies next to our own 'Flanders field.' The children worked extremely hard at home and school to create hundreds of poppies to be displayed for everyone to see.
