Holy Family Catholic Primary School

‘Learning together, Playing together, Praying together’

Welcome to Year 5 :)

We are going to have an amazing year!

Here are a few photos of our brand new classroom :)

We enjoy doing role play in RE...

We work together well in Year 5...

Year 5 have prepared some great collective worships...

The children wore odd socks to show our support against bullying! We know at Holy Family bullying is not tolerated and held a discussion about bullying and what we should do as a bystander...

We are loving our Space topic and really enjoyed making our flying saucers...

In Science, the children learnt about the difference between reversible and irreversible reactions via the kitchen. Baking buns is an irreversible reaction because we cannot get the original ingredients back but chocolate can be melted and then turned back into solid chocolate. They also taste lovely!

Year 5 really enjoyed making Christmas cards, calendars and hats. We even watched The Greatest Showman...

Year 5 loved the Prime VR experience! We travelled around space in Virtual Reality looking at stars, planets and exploring the galaxy!

The children absolutely loved the National Space Museum - we learned lots of different facts about the planets and our solar system, designed our own rocket, travelled around the solar system in the Planetarium and even saw a real rocket!

In French, we have been learning numbers up to 100, colours and French food - we even made French toast!

To start our new topic we had a visit from the Plague Doctor!
