Year 4

Welcome to Year 4's page.

 

 Year 4 are having an amazing year so far! So far we have been to York to learn about the Vikings and in June we will be visiting Hatfield Water Park.

PE is every Wednesday afternoon with Mr O'Neil. Children should bring outdoor shoes for every lesson.

Homework is given out every Friday and is due in the following Friday.

Children should be reading atleast 3 times a week. An adult should sign the reading record. Dojo points will be awarded in their reading records if they read at home.

Current topic: I am Warrior!

Year 4 will be researching about the Roman Empire and what impact they had on Britain. So far we have looked at where Rome is on a world map compared to Britain and looked at Roman entertainment. We have made shields and learnt about the colours and images on them. We have also used Ipads to to research about Rome.

Topics already covered: Raiders and Traders (Anglo-Saxons and Vikings), Road Trip USA and Misty Mountain Sierra.

Year 4 learnt how to persuade people with not just their writing but also verbally. We looked at the different jobs which you need to be good at persuading people such as estate agent, car salesman. Our winners were Trent and Noah!

On Friday, Year 4 learnt to tie their own shoe laces. Those that knew how to tie them taught the others. Great work year 4!

Year 4 have been looking at Roman mosaics. They learnt what a mosaic is and how to re-create them using card.
